Setting up stations

A station is a group of your Square item categories. Assign categories to items in the Square Dashboard under Items, then in ExpoKDS admin open Stations, click Add station, name it, and tick its categories.

How routing works

• A line shows on a station when its item is in one of that station's categories.
• Items with no category show on every station so nothing is lost.
• A ticket appears on a station only if it has at least one line for it.
• The All items view is the expo screen: every ticket, with a chip per station that turns green as that station bumps.

Mirroring kitchen printers

Square printer routing is also category-based. Copy the category groups from your printer profiles into stations and the screens match what each printer prints today.
