Features

Everything you need. Nothing you don’t.

Built with real kitchens on real Square accounts. Every feature below is live today.

Real-time order sync

Square webhooks push every order the moment it is rung up, with a polling safety net so nothing is missed if a webhook is late.

Multi-station support

Group your Square item categories into stations. Grill sees grill items, Cold sees cold items, expo sees everything with per-station progress.

Customizable workflow

Start, cross off lines, bump per station or per ticket, and recall anything bumped today. Colors change as tickets age.

Web-based. Works on any tablet.

iPad, Android, a spare laptop, a TV browser. Sign in with a store ID and PIN. No app store, no proprietary hardware.

Simple to set up

Connect Square with one login, set a PIN, pick your stations. Kitchens are live in minutes, with nothing installed on the register.

Order types at a glance

Dine in, To go, Counter, Pickup, Delivery, and third-party channels like DoorDash are labeled on every ticket, with customer names for pickups.

Kitchen-facing names

Uses the kitchen names you already set in Square, so tickets read the way your cooks talk.

Sound alerts

A clear chime for new tickets and a softer tick for edits and voids. Station-aware, mutable per tablet.

Built for the floor

Voids, refunds, edited tickets, offline POS catch-up, and stale-order protection are handled so the kitchen only sees what it should cook.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Square's own KDS subscription?
No. ExpoKDS reads orders through Square's Orders API and webhooks, which Square provides for every account. Your existing kitchen printers keep working alongside it.
What hardware do I need?
Any device with a modern browser: iPads, Android tablets, laptops, or a smart TV browser. Most kitchens use tablets they already own.
How fast do orders appear?
Typically within one to three seconds of the order being saved on the register, delivered by Square webhooks. A polling fallback covers the rare late webhook.
Can each station see only its items?
Yes. Stations are groups of your Square item categories. Each tablet picks its station once and shows only matching lines. The expo view shows every ticket with per-station progress.
Does it work with online and delivery orders?
Yes. Square Online orders and third-party orders routed through Square appear with an order-type badge, customer name, and scheduled pickup time.
Is there a contract?
No. Monthly plans cancel anytime. Annual plans are billed once per year per location.
